Webinar: The value of exchanging data – a case study from the metallic value chain

One of the major challenges within the metallic industry is the lack of data and information shared both upstream and downstream in the value chain. What type of data creates value and what are the keys optimized data sharing?

Digitala Stambanan innovation project

To explore this and how to meet the challenges was one of the main focus areas of Digitala Stambanan, an innovation project initiated by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, where opportunities and needs for digital information exchange in Swedish industry was researched and mapped. The project clarified the need for digital value chains, platforms, digital markets, and ecosystems.

The ChainTraced platform was used in the Digitala Stambanan to demonstrate how product data can be collected and visualized for all parties within the metallic value chain, involving Swedish steel producer SSAB, C-part supplier Bufab and Nitator Automotive Group who processes and assembles parts for end customers in the automotive industry.
