The EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)

PPWR for importers & distributors

Do you import or distribute goods in packaging? Since August 2026, the EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) requires you to verify that packaging complies before it reaches the market. Importers must confirm that suppliers have assessed conformity and issued an EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC). Distributors must check labelling and supplier details. ChainTraced collects this documentation from your suppliers, tracks every DoC and keeps it ready for inspection.

How ChainTraced helps

Request once, approve, and keep it current

Suppliers upload directly, or you upload on their behalf. Documentation is requested once per packaging type, not per order.

Documentation cycle in ChainTraced

Step 1 / 5

Step 1 · Request

One request per packaging type

Pick the packaging type and the supplier. ChainTraced sends one request for the EU Declaration of Conformity and the supporting documentation, so you don't chase paperwork order by order.

If documentation is incomplete

A correction is requested from the supplier and the documents go back to step 2.

When something changes

A new supplier, material change or new rules restarts the cycle from step 1 to re-confirm.
